P: Please introduce yourself!

M: My name is Meagan, I am 21 years old and am currently working full-time doing my dream creative job as an Interior Designer, as well as teaching little kids how to play soccer on the side:).

P: Describe or define yourself in your own words.

M: I would describe myself as a hard worker, a super creative person/hands on learner, and a very compassionate person. I have always worked hard to be where I want to be in my life, whether it’s working towards a small goal or a long-term goal. I have a creative outlet through my full-time job, and am able to work with people one on one and create spaces that are very personal to each person and their lifestyle. I love learning every day, but additionally, teaching has become a part of my life while coaching little kids soccer.

P: What is your favourite thing about yourself?

M: At first I didn’t want to answer this question, because it felt selfish for some reason. But after reading it again I realized it’s an important question, as loving yourself is so important. I would say my favourite thing about myself, is my empathetic personality. I find myself able to understand others and try my best to put myself in their shoes and see their point-of-view. I would say this is my favourite trait about myself because I see this trait shining through in my daily work life, and my social life (friends + family). It is something that I have always noticed is a part of me.

P: What is one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

M: This was a tough question because many things rushed to my mind. But to summarize, one piece of advice I would give to my younger self would be: Only you can define yourself. Other’s opinions about you don’t matter. Loving yourself is so important and putting yourself before others sometimes is NOT selfish.

P: What does being a woman mean to you?

M: Being a women is standing up for yourself and showing your strength in the world. It means showing yourself what you are capable of and what you want to do to make a difference. Being a women is doing what you want: whether that is eating the food you want, wearing that dress you want, or doing that career path you want to venture into.

P: Who is one woman that inspires you? What would you say if they were here now?

M: I don’t have just one women who inspires me. Maybe if I thought about it for long enough I could narrow it down haha. But really, all the women in my life inspire me. My mom, my grandmas, my 2 sisters, my mentor at work, my best friends, and my aunts. Everyone single one of them impact my life in a different way, so it is hard for me to pick just one. Some inspire me in courageous ways, loving ways, and others in creative and artistic ways.
