Elizabeth

...just hang on, the bad times don’t last forever.
— Elizabeth

Elizabeth is a passionate surfer, an influential activist and an empowering leader. She founded the ‘Curvy Surfer Girl’ movement, which aims to promote positive ideals of body image in the surfing community. Elizabeth started CSG to address the lack of representation and body diversity within women’s surfing. When she realised the industry wasn’t going to change itself, she decided she would be the one to do it. Elizabeth is working to ensure surfing is a sport that includes and celebrates all surfer girls - of all shapes and sizes - everywhere. This is Elizabeth’s story.

E: I love that I’m willing to take risks to follow my dreams and ambitions.

P: Tell us a story. Have you had an experience that’s defined you or made you stronger?

E: When I was 14 I survived a near drowning experience after being lost at sea for several hours in the Gulf of Mexico. An unexpected riptide pulled me and a couple friends out to open waters and I was an inexperienced swimmer. I’m most proud that I was eventually able to overcome my immense fear of the ocean through surfing.
