Don’t be afraid of making mistakes or ‘failing’ - that’s when you actually learn new things about yourself and get to know yourself better.

P: Please introduce yourself!

C: Hi my name is Chantal Cabrera and I am an actress from Toronto Ontario.

P: Describe or define yourself in your own words.

C: Driven, empathetic, passionate, a big kid at heart, goofy sense of humour, resourceful, intelligent, fiercely loyal to my friends and family, willing to stand up for what I think is right.

P: What is your favourite thing about yourself?

C: My empathy for others. I always try to treat others how I would like to be treated and to help someone in need when I can, which brings me happiness. I also feel like I am very sensitive to people’s emotions and can relate to everyone I meet in some way. I think that also makes me an intuitive actress.

P: Tell us a story. What’s an experience that has defined you or made you stronger?

C: I would definitely have to say that a common story in my life is how people try to take advantage of my sensitivity. I was bullied on and off throughout my childhood and adolescence. From that I was forced to be a stronger person and always stand up for myself. It taught me that I determine my worth and to be a good person, not a nice person.

P: What is one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

C: Don’t be afraid of making mistakes or “failing” - that’s when you actually learn new things about yourself and get to know yourself better. That doesn’t stop at a certain age, you will feel like you are failing sometimes and that’s ok, every person does.

P: What does being a woman mean to you?

C: Being a woman means you are a badass. It means for me, strength and beauty and individual obstacles that make you stronger. It means being a human. There really shouldn’t be any difference between any of us in this world. As my parents always say, “everybody shits” haha.

P: Who is one woman that inspires you? What would you say to her if she were here now?

C: The one woman that inspires me is my mom. Her strength and beauty, inside and out, amazes me and has helped make me who I am today. I tell her everyday that I love her and she is the best.
