Carolyn

Being a woman hasn’t been limiting, it’s been limitless, or that’s what it has seemed and I only hope my daughter feels the same way.

P: Please introduce yourself!

C: Hi! My name is Carolyn, I co-host a national lifestyle show called The Morning Show on Global, I’m married and we have two children who are growing up very quickly!

P: Describe or define yourself in your own words.

C: Fun, until 10 at night, then it’s bedtime. Lover of simple pleasures, Friday nights in with the fam, cocktail hour at the cottage, an evening with my girlfriends. And a little too detail-oriented in everything I do.

P: What is your favourite thing about yourself?

C: That I don’t take myself or others too seriously.

P: Tell us a story. Have you had an experience that’s defined you or made you stronger?

C: Yup. When I lived in Cape Breton. I took my first news job there after signing a one-year contract with ATV News. It was the hardest job I’ve ever had but it taught me so much about this business and what I’m made of.

P: What is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?

C: Take bigger risks, experiment more.

P: What does being a woman mean to you?

C: It’s everything. As a woman I’ve been able to pursue a fulfilling and rewarding career, I’ve been able to be a mother; to watch my body change as my babies grew inside me and then provide them with the love and nourishment they would need to grow. Being a woman hasn’t been limiting, it’s been limitless, or that’s what it has seemed and I only hope my daughter feels the same way.

P: Who is one woman that inspires you?

C: She’s a young woman and she’s my daughter. Kate inspires me to be better and do better all the time.
