K: Please introduce yourself!

M: I'm Mallory Graham Anishinaabe-kwe (Ojibway & Potawotami) from Curve Lake First Nation. I’m the founder & Creative Director of Tribal Trade.

K: Describe or define yourself in your own words.

M: I would describe myself as an innovator, and a strong communicator. I’m a homebody, and an introvert. The most important things to me are my family, and my business. I love learning new things, being challenged, and working with creative people. I have been described by my friends as the most focused & determined person they’ve met, which I take a great amount of pride in.

K: What is your favorite thing about yourself?

M: My favorite thing about myself is my level of creative ability combined with work-ethic.

K: Tell us a story. Have you had an experience that’s defined you or made you stronger?

M: When I was trying to become a mom, I experienced years of difficulty with infertility, which was absolutely debilitating. Taking care of my mental health for several months helped me get spiritually, physically, and mentally healthier to be in a position where I was able to finally get pregnant.

K: What is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?

M: One piece of advice I’d give to my younger self is to treat yourself with kindness and compassion, and to trust your instincts.

K: What does being a woman mean to you?

M: Being a woman to me means balancing strength, and independence, with love and compassion.

K: Who is one woman that inspires you? What would you say to her if she were here now?

M: Amy Porterfield inspires me very much. If she were here now, I’d tell her thank you for being such an inspiration to me, and for being so open and generous in the content she shares.
