Bhavani
Bhavani has an expansive palette of passions, including cooking, gardening, and reading. She is always looking to share her knowledge in these areas with others and dedicates her time to teaching village and uneducated women new recipes. Her willingness to lend a hand to others is apparent, but she has also discovered a new-found freedom in saying “no” to people and situations that are not in her best interest. Meet Bhavani. This is her story.
K: Please introduce yourself!
B: Hi.....I’m Bhavani. A homemaker now. A passionate cook. I love introducing myself saying I was a teacher once. I chose to be a homemaker and commit my time for farming. I love reading, love to dance, gardening, love teaching and cooking is always my favourite thing to do. I started farming and just love it. I help village and uneducated women by teaching them recipes and market their products to make their living.
K: Describe yourself in your own words.
B: I love helping people. I make friends easily. I can make them comfortable in my company.
K: What is your favorite thing about yourself?
B: My ability to adjust and mingle with new people and places.
K: Tell us a story. Have you had an experience that’s defined you or made you stronger?
B: I’ve learnt a very hard way to say NO!!! I was taken for granted by many for my soft nature. Many experiences and situations made me realise how tough I should be standing to create my own space and my identity. I stopped ruining my happiness to make others happy. Saying NO helped me find my inner peace and that comfort feeling is awesome. I feel less stressed now by saying NO to things which I’m not interested to do.
K: What is one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?
B: Be yourself. Have confidence in yourself. Don’t let anyone rule your life. Take chances and prove yourself. Have self-respect and show respect for others.
K: What does being a woman mean to you?
B: Woman is a unbelievably precious gift of God. Being Woman itself is being powerful.
K: Who is one woman that inspires you? What would you say to her if she were here now?
B: Many women inspired me and still continue to inspire me. But, my mom is the one woman who inspired me a lot. Her commitment towards her duties, her energy, her cooking skills which I got from her, everything is so amazing.
